Of course these are only some little parts of our activity, if we would report on everything, we wouldn´t have any time to work anymore...

Today we went on an excursion with the smallest Heartkids (kindergarten Tiruvannamalai) to the dam which is 30 km away; nearby the large lake is a wonderful park and crocodiles can be marvelled at. The kids were having much fun!

Around the turn of the year 26 children from our small kidcenter in a village of the Irula people came to see us. We had planned on night but they stayed for two nights actually and we spent many wonderful hours in which more than 80 girls and boys played together peacefully at the Heartkids Home. Therefore it was hard to say good-bye and the next visit is already planned. During the time we spent together wonderful portraits were made; you will find them in our photogallery.

At this point we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all Heartkids-friends, who helped to make the year 2010 a successful one!

26th December 2010

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas in the Heartkids Home – as every time in peaceful harmony with our Hindu and Christian children. It is just beautiful to see how tolerant (most of) the Hindus are and that they appreciate and value also the holidays of other religions.
The children in our children’s village got new clothes and they recited songs and poems in our meditation room. Especially our youngest girls Ammu and Snegha were real sweethearts: at the end we had to prevent them gently from going on endlessly reciting rhymes learnt at school J. At the end everybody received sweeties from Germany and we had dinner together.

2nd December 2010

The construction work at the Education Centres makes good progress. This morning the first door case was fitted with a ceremonial celebration. Now the next doors and window frames can follow.

One month ago the summer holidays in Tamil Nadu have started. That`s why our Kids Centre is closed and because the kids are visiting their relatives also our Heart Kids Home has less children as usual. But school starts again in june and so more and more children are returning back home!

Today our kids from Kidcenter and Heartkids Home made a daytrip to Pondicherry. Besides sightseeing they also had icecream and of course a little swimm in the sea.

As soon as the 12 bunk beds are finished the three new buildings in the Heartkids-Home can be activated. We are very happy to welcome new inhabitants on sunday (1st of Febrauary).

Yesterday a little bull calf was born in Heartkids Home. The children are very excited about it and they are debating keenly on the name ...

The baby calf and its mother Lakshmi are doing well!

Today we have celebrated our anniversary in our Kid-Center Tiruvanamalai. In front of 650 people there were awards and dance, we had tea and snacks - and many sparkling eyes of our Heart-Kids...
